[ Summary ] |
Sufficient amounts of saline injected into the submucosa, to separate mucosa from the proper muscle layer, is an effective method for preventing perforations during endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Injuries to the proper muscle layer are a cause of perforations. In cases with bleeding after EMR, clipping or elctrocauterization of bleeding vessels, using a plastic cap is also effective. In cases of (semi-)circular resection, endoscopic dilatation with dilators plays an important role in preventing luminal stenosis. |
