[ Summary ] |
The three-dimensional(3D) CT display method is a promising new technique for diagnosis of gastrointestinal neoplasms. It can precisely evaluate the extent of tumors inside and outside of the gastrointestinal wall as well as distant metastasis. Observers can interactively change the viewpoint or perspective at anytime, using a mouse and/or the keyboard, and can observe the characteristics of tumor structures and accurately determine tumor location. This imaging technique is minimally invasive, causing minimal patient discomfort. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the clinical usefulness of 3D CT displays for treatment of cancer of the gastrointestinal tract. |
