[ Summary ] |
With recent advances in computer technology, various three-dimensional images have been brought into use in clinical medicine. We referred to the principles and the present status of virtual endoscopy, using three-dimensional ultrasonography(US-VE). US-VE images complemented resected specimens of lesions. US-VE imaging made it easier to understand three-dimensional shapes and surface conditions of the lesions, and produced more objective and accurate images than conventional ultrasonography. Three-dimensional ultrasonography systems have been developed remarkably quickly and we expect that US-VE will approach the levels of reliability seen with endoscopic images. |
