| 【 要旨 】 | Virtual endoscopy〔仮想化内視鏡システム，バーチャル・エンドスコピー，virtual(ized) endoscopy，などとも呼ばれる．以下，VESと略記〕は，「管腔臓器の内部を自由に移動しつつ管壁の状態を観察し，定量計測し，時には変形も加えて診断するシステム」である．観察対象の臓器はコンピュータ内の仮想化された人体〔virtual(ized) human body;VHB〕を用いる．本稿では，まず，VESの構成のあらまし，および，画像生成の方法についての原理を簡単に説明する．次に，通常のVESをさらに進めた機能として教育応用向け機能，仮想展開，ナビゲーション診断と情報強化内視鏡(information augmented endoscopy)について述べる．最後に，VESの特徴をまとめておく． | |

| [ Summary ] | This article, presents first, brief explanation of the basic concept and processing work flow in the virtual endoscopic systems(VES). A few functions of advanced VES, such as virtual expansion or resection of organs, a system for educational use, navigation diagnosis, and information augmented endoscopy are discussed. Finally there is a brief summary of the advantages and limitations of VES. | |
