[ Summary ] |
A clinical path is available for percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), needing short admission times, simple treatment, and requiring intensive care for 7 days after treatment. The introduction of clinical path in our department has served several purposes: (1) effective use of available beds, (2) determination of need for specialized beds for EMR, (3) simplifying chart records, and (4) enhancing education of residents. Since patients receiving PEG are involved with the department of neurosurgery and/or neurology, a clinical path was required to perform total simplified care. Thus, the introduction of a clinical path enabled patients to know their clinical schedule and receive standard clinical treatments. |
