[ Summary ] |
Ultrasonographic angiography, enhanced with intraarterial CO2 microbubbles, is performed after the conventional angiographic procedures. It is useful in the detection of tumors of the liver by revealing minute arterial blood flow, which was undetectable with conventional angiography. Ultrasonographic angiography is particularly useful in the detection of early hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), in the evaluation of the recurrence of HCC, and in the PEIT or RFA as an indicator of the target lesion. Ultrasonographic angiography is inexpensive, compared to procedures using intravenous contrast agents, which have recently been developed. For these reasons, Ultrasonographic angiography should be performed on patients with liver tumors after the performance of conventional angiography. |
