Cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus belong to Herpes virus family and are known as causes of hepatitis and hepatitis is frequently found in states of incomplete immune reaction. Hepatitis, due to both viruses usually has minor symptoms but some cases, in compromised hosts, become serious. In some cases elevations in the titer of viral antibodies were not found. Certain diagnoses should be done based on the existence of viral antigens and viral DNA in the serum or tissues. Hepatitis, due to both viruses will become a serious clinical problem accompanied by the increase of organ transplantation cases. |
