[ Summary ] |
The recent development of MR imaging techniques for the pancreas have enabled us to evaluate not only pancreatic parenchyma but also the pancreatic ductal system and the portal venous system. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate MR imaging of various pancreatic diseases. The characteristics and usefulness of each sequence including fat-suppressed T2-weighted images, fat-suppressed T1-weighted images, T1-weighted in-phase fast field echo images, contrast enhanced dynamic MR imaging, MR angiography (MRA), and MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) are discussed. Clinical examples include pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, islet cell tumors, mucin producing tumors, serous cystadenoma, pancreatitis, and annular pancreas. |
