[ Summary ] |
For patients with esophageal or gastric varices caused by portal hypertension, interventional techniques such as PTO, BRTO and TIPS have been used. The purpose of this paper is to outline the techniques, indications, complications, and results of these interventional treatments. It is concluded that these will play important roles in the management of esophageal-gastric varices, especially in cases where varices are uncontrollable by endoscopic therapy. |
