【 要旨 】 癌治療は，その進行度や悪性度に応じた最適な治療法を選択することが重要である．大腸癌では，従来の形態学的診断を補うものとして分子生物学的特性を利用した悪性度評価が数多く試みられている．一方，近年の分子生物学の進歩により，個々の情報から全体像を捉える解析が重要視されるようになってきた．本稿では，大腸癌の分子レベルで重要と思われる悪性度因子に関して，重要な分子を概説するとともに，最近注目されている体系的・網羅的分子生物学的悪性度診断としてのDNA arrayについて紹介した．今後，このような解析により，従来の診断に加えより正確な悪性度診断が行われ，最適な治療法の選択が可能となることが期待される．

[ Summary ] The aggressiveness of cancer has been evaluated in relation to several morphological factors. These factors, however, have many limitations and are not always justified to predict patients' prognosis and to personalize patients' treatment plans. Recent advances in molecular biology and cellular biology encourage us to evaluate colorectal cancer aggressivenes at the molecular level. We reviewed recent publications concerning molecular applications for prognostic markers of colorectal cancer. We also introduced a DNA array system to help us understand colorectal cancer aggressiveness more precisely. A molecular approach, using a DNA array system, could be one of the most useful tools to evaluate colorectal cancer aggressiveness and to select appropriate treatment strategies for colorectal cancer patients in the future.
