[ Summary ] |
We have a new method of endoscopic resection utilizing local injection of hypertonic saline-epinephrine for the treatment of early gastric cancer. With our method, a local injection of hypertonic saline-epinephrine(HSE) solution, originally developed to arrest hemorrhaging from the upper digestive tract, was applied to prevent bleeding after endoscopic resection of lesions. 360 cases underwent treatment using ERHSE. The curative resection rate was 96.7%. Obvious bleeding during this treatment, was encountered in twenty cases (5.6%). No emergency operation were needed. Perforation of the stomach occured in ten cases (2.7%) and emergency operations were required in two cases (0.56%). |
