【 要旨 】 multiple lymphomatous polyposis (MLP) は，その疾患概念を1961年にCornesらによって報告されて以来，本邦でも相次いで報告されるようになってきた．しかし"広範な消化管にリンパ系細胞の腫瘍性増殖より成る多発性のポリープ様病変を呈する悪性リンパ腫"と定義されており，あくまで肉眼形態像を主眼としたもので，その病態像を示した名称ではない．そのため，本邦ではMLPもしくは"MLPに類似した病変"として扱われることが多く，われわれの症例も肉眼形態から診断されたものである．さらに成人T細胞性白血病 (ATL) は消化管への浸潤傾向が強く，高率に消化管病変を合併し，MLP類似の肉眼形態を示すことが報告されている．
今回われわれは，MLPおよびATLの消化管病変を提示し，若干の文献的考察も加えて報告する．

[ Summary ] We report gastroenterological findings of patients with multiple lymphomatous polyposis (MLP). We have also revealed gastrointestinal appearances of patients with adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) showing gastrointestinal involvement. These findings were fundamentally attributable to infiltration of tumor cells. Especially, the large intestinal appearance of ATL was similar to that of MLP. In addition, we reviewed the domestic literature.
In order to establish the disease entity of MLP advocated by Cornes and define its relation to other tumors of the lymphatic system, "neoplastic proliferation of lymphatic cells causing polyposis-like changes in an extensive area of the gastrointestinal tract" should be treated as MLP in a broad sense. Thereby cases in which disease staging and clinicopathological as well as immunological examinations are adequately performed would accumulate. With the increasing use of colonoscopy, cases with this disease limited to the gastrointestinal tract may be found more frequently. In addition, histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations using large biopsy specimens should be routinely done to determine the benign or malignant nature of the disease.
