[ Summary ] |
Cleaning and disinfection of hemodialysis-related equipment are essential to sanitize dialysis fluid. However, we cannot eliminate microbial contamination in clinical equipment using the methods recommended in the manufacturer's manual. This is because a biofilm is formed due to contamination from workers' hands during the manufacture of equipment, maintenance after installation in the facility, and routine dialysis fluid production. The degree of contamination between the equipment and facility differs. First, it is important to establish an operating procedure that minimizes new contamination. Second, it is important to reliably wash and disinfect the device daily to suppress the formation of a biofilm. |
