Systems for training young doctors as experts in individual medical fields will dramatically change in the coming years. New doctors may obtain certification as experts in Internal Medicine with in 5 years of graduation and subsequently obtain certification in subspecialties, such as Nephrology, in 3 years. We, members of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy, hope that certification for Dialysis Therapy may be obtained in parallel with training for Nephrology. We have already prepared a training curriculum, a training program, and a guidance manual for trainees who will try to obtain certification for performing Dialysis Therapy. In the new training systems, primary hospitals, as well as associated hospitals will be combined to make training complexes for these trainees. |
