【 要旨 】 腹膜透析では，厳格な体液管理が可能である血液透析とは異なり，体液過剰となっているにもかかわらず見過ごされている症例がまれではない．この体液過剰を早期診断するうえで，体重変化を継時的にモニターすることはきわめて重要である．また体重変化の継時的なモニターは，筋肉量および体脂肪量の変動を確認するうえでも重要である．

[ Summary ] Cases of overhydration are not rare in peritoneal dialysis patients. An annual assessment of PD patients body weight (BW) is useful for early diagnosis of overhydrated states. An annual assessment of patients BW is also useful for evaluation of body composition changes such as muscular wasting and increased body fat.
