| 【 要旨 】 | 一般に高齢者は加齢や疾病などにより介護などの支援が必要な状態となり，加えて透析患者は合併症も多く，血液透析（HD）の場合は頻回の通院もあり，その支援者である家族の負担も大きくなる．また，少子高齢化や核家族化により，世帯の高齢化，患者の独居なども少なくない．このような状況のなか，高齢透析患者を支える家族が抱えるさまざまな問題に対して，介護負担だけではなく不安・ストレスも軽減することが重要となる．医療従事者には，主介護者に負担が集中しないように，具体的な家族間の役割分担の提案や各専門職との連携による社会資源の有効活用をはかり，患者・家族が長期にわたる安定的な療養生活が可能となるように支援を行うことが望まれる． | |

| [ Summary ] | Elderly persons often require nursing care or support because of age related conditions and chronic illnesses. Dialysis patients experience large physical, mental and financial burdens. The falling birth rate and aging of the population have lead to more elderly households and numbers of patients who live alone. Therefore, it is important for the health care industry to take advantage of families who have members who are elderly dialysis patients in order to reduce not only the burden or nursing care facilities but also to reduce anxiety and stress. The health care industry has an important role in supporting caregivers to reduce these burdens. The health care industry must also suggest measures to make families of patients aware of their roles in providing patient care. |
