Author Takahiro Fujii Takahiro Fujii Clinic
[ Summary ] Informed consent, which consists of a thorough explanation and agreement on clinical examinations, has become compulsory before colonoscopy due to the risks of accidents during the procedure. However, it is difficult for all patients to fully understand the IC information in a short time, especially those patients with a lack of knowledge of medical treatments. For this reason, the use of an original VTR about IC in the clinic's waiting room can be very effective in reducing time spent.
However, lawsuits, an acquittal will not be guaranteed just because the IC form has been signed. Presently, it is fundamental to perform endoscopic examinations knowing that when facing lawsuits there will be fewer problems provided that IC has been is obtained.
