| [ Summary ] |
A 68-year old man was admitted for treatment of a colon tumor in the caecum 10 mm in diameter. Standard colonoscopy, magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging (NBI) and magnifying chromoendoscopy suggested cTis ˜ T1a carcinoma arising from sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P). We performed endoscopic mucosal resection of this tumor. However, at the time of treatment 12 days after the initial examination, the height of the lesion had decreased somewhat, the surface was reddish. With NBI magnification and pit pattern findings. The surface pattern of the tumor had obviously become more irregular compared with the initial examination. We performed precutting endoscopic mucosal resection before total excisional biopsy of this tumor. Histopathological findings were carcinoma (tub1) with SSA/P, pT1b (SM 1,500 µm), budding grade 1, ly 0 (D2-409, v0 (VB), pHM0, pVM0. We report a case of pT1b carcinoma arising from SSA/P which changed morphology and magnifing findings in a short period. |
