[ Summary ] |
We reviewed recent trends in the clinical diagnosis and treatment strategy for patients with intestinal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. While this lymphoma can develop in any segment of the intestinal tract, the most frequently involved site is the ileum, followed by the colon and the duodenum. Macroscopically, polypoid and ulcerative forms are predominant. The therapeutic strategies, including antibiotic treatment, surgical resection, chemotherapy, rituximab immunotherapy, radiotherapy, or a combination of these, should be determined based on the disease location and clinical stage in each patient. Because the prognosis is excellent, a less invasive management is suitable for patients with intestinal MALT lymphoma. |
