【 要旨 】 回盲部はその解剖学的特徴からも多種多様な疾患の発生母地となる．また，回盲部潰瘍性病変の診断の際には，病変の分布や局在が鑑別の要点になることも多い．したがって，回盲部疾患の診断を行う際には，これらの解剖学的特徴を理解しておくことが重要である．さらに小腸と大腸では解剖学的特徴に加えて機能的にも違いがみられるため，鑑別診断の際には生理学的，病理組織学的特徴を理解しておくことも必要である．

[ Summary ] The ileocecum is complicated anatomically, and a variety of diseases may occur in this region. Therefore, it is necessary to understand these anatomical features when we diagnose ileocecal diseases. In addition, the ileocecal region is different from the small intestine or the large intestine in terms of functionality. It is important we understand the physiologic and histologic characteristics of this area.
