[ Summary ] |
Epigenetic alterations play important roles in the development of carcinogenesis and are related to geneticalterations. The profile of epigenetic and genetic alterations related to colorectal cancer (CRC) are divided into three different subclasses : the CpG island methylator phenotype (CIMP) 1, CIMP2 and CIMP-negative. It is suspected that de novo CRC is CIMP-negative andis associated with p53 mutation and loss of heterozygosity. |
