[ Summary ] |
Unfolded conformers have been known to be key intermediates in amyloid formation. Bellotti et al. first reported an intermediate β2MG molecule in DRA tissue which can refold into native β2MG. It has been demonstrated that intermediate β2MG consists of a β2MG conformers with unfolded C terminal, i.e, β2MG92-99. In refernce to the characteristics of amyloid variant, ΔN 6β2MG, our concepts concerning the pathomechanisms of DRA, i.e, the β2MG shuttle concept, are discussed. |
