[ Summary ] |
There is a strong correlation between Kudo's classification of mucosal crypt patterns and histological findings obtained through magnifying colonoscopy. In the correlation of crypt patterns and histological diagnosis, there is a high correspondence in the relationship between type I and II non-neoplastic lesions, type III or IV intramucosal neoplastic lesions, and type V deep invasive carcinomas, respectively. Kudo's classification was modified into three basic types; non-neoplastic, non-invasive and invasive. This clinical classification of magnifying colonoscopy could lead us to the attainment of higher quality endoscopic diagnosis. |
