[ Summary ] |
Although a number of retrospective studies have pointed out an increase in the incidence of, severity of, and healthcare costs for Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in infl ammatory bowel disease (IBD), the short- and long-term outcomes of IBD have been controversial. A prospective study of pediatric patients with IBD associated with CDI suggested worsening outcome. To conclude this important issue, more prospective multicenter studies are necessary. |
