[ Summary ] |
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) has an escape mechanism from the immunoresponse of the host. CMV infection is characteristically a latent infection. CD8-positive T cells production is the most important immunoresponse of the host against CMV, and CMV is reactivated by cellular immunity suppression. CMV infection commonly occurs in the gastrointes tinal tract. Erosions and ulcers are observed in CMV enterocolitis. Ulceration is regarded as an ischemic change. |
