[ Summary ] |
Urgent colonoscopy is a very effective procedure for diagnosis and treatment of anal bleeding. However, it is necessary, to first, investigate the patient's history of hematochezia, diarrhea, abdominal pain or fever. Patients with massive bleeding frequently suffer from diverticula, acute hemorrhagic rectal ulcers and vascular ectasia. Patients with hemorrhagic diarrhea frequently suffer from ischemic colitis, ulcerative colitis, infectious colitis or antibiotic associated hemorrhagic colitis. |
