【 要旨 】 上部消化管内視鏡検査は，癌診療のみではなく非腫瘍性疾患の拾い上げから診断においても非常に重要な役割を担っている．本稿では，われわれがよく遭遇する食道非腫瘍性疾患のなかで，逆流性食道炎，好酸球性食道炎，Barrett食道，薬剤性食道炎・腐食性食道炎，食道カンジダ症，食道静脈瘤について取り上げ，ガイドライン・取扱い規約などをもとに解説する．
