[ Summary ] |
The definition of late complications of acute pancreatitis has been changed in the revised Atlanta classification of acute pancreatitis, and the new concept of walled‒off necrosis (WON), corresponding to necrotizing pancreatitis in the previous definition, has been introduced. Surgery was the standard treatment for these lesions ; however, with a paradigm shift in the treatment strategy, interventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is currently considered the standard and less invasive treatment for these lesions. |
