[ Summary ] |
Palliative double stenting for biliary obstruction and duodenal obstruction is complicated and challenging compared to single stenting for either of these two obstructions. Duodenal stenting with a self-expanding metal stent which can be released through the working channel of an endoscope, endosonography-guided hepaticogastrostomy and choledochoduodenostomy with a metal stent, and percutaneous transhepatic biliary stenting with a self-expanding metal stent in a single session have recently become available. Various methods for double stenting utilizing these newly developed techniques are illustrated. |
