[ Summary ] |
Recent advances in imaging technology have brought about the frequent detection of small pancreatic lesions, whose diagnoses are not established without histological or cytological examination. In order to obtain a sufficient quantity of material for cytology during ERCP, a guidewire scraping procedure for pancreatic duct strictures was conducted. This produced high diagnostic yields for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Cytologic examination of pancreatic juice or EUS-FNA should be employed appropriately in the diagnosis of pancreatic diseases for individual patients. |
