[ Summary ] |
We reviewed the clinical significance of various pancreatic enzymes and tumor markers in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The sensitivity of various pancreatic enzymes were as follows : amylase 30 - 50 %, lipase 60 % and elastase-1 ; 60 - 70 %. The specificity of various pancreatic enzymes were as follows : amylase ; 50 %, lipase ; 40 %, and elastase-1 ; 76 %. The sensitivity of various tumor markers were as follows : CA 19-9 ; 70 - 80 %, DU-PAN-2 ; 60 - 70 % and Span-1 80 - 85 %. The specificity was as follows : CA 19-9 ; 65 - 73 %, DU-PAN-2 ; 75 - 85 % and Span-1 ; 68 - 80 %. The combination assay of several tumor markers increased sensitivity. However, it is difficult to diagnosis early pancreatic cancer cases such as T 1 or Stage I. |
