[ Summary ] |
In the coming aged society, renal replacement therapy (RRT) should be shifted to home therapy, accounting for the shortages in medical budget and manpower. Home hemodialysis (HHD) is warranted because of its high medical quality and economic advantage. In order for HHD to be widely accepted in the aged society, development of more simplified machines suitable for elderly people, transformation in the social structure for the medical care of elderly RRT patients, and mitigation of the guideline restrictions for HHD should be discussed. |
