[ Summary ] |
The regulation of calcium and phosphate levels is controlled by the actions of key ions and hormones in the intestines, kidneys, parathyroid gland and bone tissue. The identification of TRPV 5/6, Na/Pi cotransporters, fibroblast growth factor 23 and Klotho have further advanced our understanding of calcium and phosphate homeostasis. This article briefly summarizes how FGF23/Klotho is involved in calcium and phosphate regulation. |
