[ Summary ] |
There are several types of UF control systems to remove excessive water from dialysis patients, such as the "Volumetric Dialysate Balance", the "Double Pump Balancing", the "Double Chamber Balancing", or the "Viscous Fluid Balancing" types. These balancing systems enable high flux dialysis and hemodiafiltration. Two types of blood Volume Monitoring (BVM) using light or ultrasound were introduced to establish a feed back UF control system for patients. Dialysis machines with feed back controls are valid for control of patient's circulation to avoid blood pressure drops beyond critical points and muscle cramps. |
