[ Summary ] In recent years, mucosal healing (MH) has been proposed as a treatment target for inflammatory bowel disease, and the importance of endoscopic activity evaluation has been increasing. With the advent of the balloon endoscope, observation of small bowel lesions of Crohn's disease (CD) has become possible, but no grading method has been established for small bowel lesions. No quantitative definition has been proposed for MH of CD. In the future, an endoscopic scoring system should be developed for CD that can be applied widely to the small and large intestines and can accurately evaluate the state of the disease.
